Free Tanker Shuttle Training
Date: Monday, March 08, 2010
All
Below is a flyer about some water shuttle training to be held at
the Marion County Lake, Marion, Kansas, 17 and 18 April 2010.
This training is being conducted by Got Big Water, from
Westminster, Maryland. You can read more about this company at
their web site
www.gotbigwater.com
Some back ground on this training. A lot of what was used in
the Lincolnville, Lost Springs and Centre High School area to
lower out ISO rating came from the founder of this company. He
has since passed but his brother has taken on the training
mission.
This training is being made available at no cost, through a
portion of the Fire Act Grant that was received by MCFD5
(Lincolnville FD).
We are working getting lunch provided but are not sure at this
time. We are also planning on contacting some venders to let
them know of the training class. If we cannot have lunch
provided there are plenty of places in the city of Marion to get
lunch.
As the flyer states this will be a 2 day training event with
both class room and practical application.
We are going to try to limit the class size to 100. Because of
this in county personnel will have first shot at the
training. I would like all Marion County departments to notify
me by email of how many slots, with names if possible, that you
will need for the class. I will need this information no later
than the 31st of March.
On 1 April 2010 the training will open up to any and all
personnel both inside and outside of the county on a 1st come
basis.
Personnel wishing to sign-up for the class need to email me at
the email address below to secure a place in the class. Again
this is on a 1st come basis. Enrollment will close on 14 April.
At this time if there are any slots left I will have it posted
again on the KSFFA web site. If the class fills up before the
deadline I will also post that on the KSFFA web site.
If you wish to bring apparatus or equipment please let us know
in your email on enrollment. We will need tankers, pumpers, and
floating pumps. Any and all apparatus and equipment is welcome.
To enroll we will need the following information; Name, Address,
Department, Contact phone number, and /or contact email
address. Send this information to;
firesq34@yahoo.com
Thank you
Respectfully
Lester Kaiser
